LAJONG HAVE WON BOTH OF THEIR LAST TWO GAMES and will look to make it three in a row. Chennai are slowly showing the true mettle with great game play in their last two games. Both coaches were at the press conference yesterday to speak about the preparation for the upcoming game.
Lajong coach Thangboi Singto, about the team coming together as a unit said,
“As I have mentioned before, the team needed time to play together to gel and I think it has finally started to show (on the field). We have to now continue with this style of play. We started with the first home game against Minerva and we have progressed from there. We played much better against Mumbai FC in terms of creating chances, need to carry the momentum forward,”
He added,
“The I-League duration is a challenging one but we’re ready for the tight fixture.”
Singto has told his boys not be complacent and take Chennai City lightly.
Chennai City Coach Robin Raja felt his team are well prepared for the game.
Raja speaking on the season so far and how the team was approaching today's game said,
“Five of our players joined us three days before the first game. So, we are taking it match by match,”
Raja agreeed that to play under the Shillong weather is a challenge but the team is up to the task.
