Minerva Punjab FC tie up with English Club Bolton Wanderers FC
FINISHING AS RUNNER-UPS AT THE I-LEAGUE second division last season and gearing for thier debut at the I-League in the upcoming season, Minerva Punjab FC are making some postive moves to be part the top division in the country. Started in 2005 under the name Minerva Academy, they set up a stable youth team to move up the ranks to reach the I-League 2nd division last year.
In the start of December, Minerva Punjab FC announced tie-up with Mauritius based Grand Bel Air Spurs FC to boost their preparation for the top flight in Indian football. With a view of building on the team fitness aspects, the club shared the news of their collaboration with Former World Champion & Olympic Gold Medalist Abhinav Bindra’s High Perfomance Training Centre in Mohali. Each of the high performance equipment in the center is fitted with 3D cameras, motion sensors and digital screens and in each of them an athlete can check 3D imaging of his own body and his or her body equilibrium and other functional aspects real time.
Adding to the existing collaborations, Minerva Punjab FC announced yet another tie-up, this time in England with Bolton Wanderers. The former English Premiere League club, Bolton Wanderers are currently playing in League One of England. Spreading its wings across and outside the country, Minerva are pumping up energy into their campaign well before they begin in the second week of January.
