Aizawl FC are back: Unanimous decision by AIFF ex-comm lets Fed Cup finalists back into I-League
GOOD NEWS for all Aizawl FC fans as the debutants of last season of I-League have got back into the League for 2016-17 season. The decision was made in All India Football Federation's Executive Committee meeting held in Goa and chaired by President Praful Patel.
"Keeping in mind the heartwarming performance of Aizawl FC in the last edition, the Committee unanimously decided to give them a ticket to play in the 2016-17 edition," the AIFF said in a statement.
Aizawl were impressive in the Federation Cup as they surprised everyone to be the runners-up losing to Mohun Bagan in the final. Though they failed to win the cup, they won many hearts.
