Hitched! Cricketer Dinesh Karthik ties the knot with squash star Dipika Pallikal
ANOTHER CRICKETER WALKS DOWN THE AISLE! Indian batsman and wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik has finally taken the marital plunge with long-time fiancée and India’s top squash player, Dipika Pallikal.
The couple were married in a Christian ceremony on Tuesday in Chennai. They will tie the knot again in a South Indian-style wedding on August 20. The wedding was a quiet affair, attended only by close friends and family members.
Pallikal, who was engaged to Karthik since November 2013, became the first Indian squash player to feature in the Top 10 World Squash rankings. The Indian cricketer was introduced to Dipika after he divorced his first wife Nikita, who was also his childhood friend. Nikita is now married to Indian Test opener, Murali Vijay.
Karthik is known to be supportive of Dipika’s sporting decisions. He was also present at the Commonwealth Games, where Pallikal won a Gold medal in the Doubles event.
