INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE (ISL) side Delhi Dynamos striker Robin Singh on Tuesday said he is relishing the opportunity of interacting with his team's marquee player-cum-manager Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos.
Robin was signed by the Dynamos for the second edition of the tournament, which commences on October 3. Dynamos ailed to qualify for the last four stage of the eight-team tournament last year.
"My interactions with Roberto Carlos have been brief but every minute spent was worth it. He brings immense knowledge and experience from playing at the highest level, he's surely going to make a difference to us all at Delhi Dynamos," Singh was quoted as saying by goal.com.
Dynamos won the striker's services after making a winning bid of Rs.51 lakh during the ISL auction last month. Robin said he was happy to have landed a plum deal and ready to give his all for his new team.
"To be honest, I am just grateful for the opportunity and was excited to be an integral holistic part of the ISL. Wherever I was meant to go I know my dedication and commitment would have been 100 percent," he said.
"It doesn't get any better than playing for my home town. I am looking forward to a great season of training and games and will make sure to give my best to the team. Truly grateful for their trust in me," Singh said.
Shifting his focus to the national side, Robin voiced the Indian team's determination to persevere despite defeats to Oman and Guam in their opening two fixtures of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. India face Iran in a qualifier in Bengaluru on September 8.
"We are ready to give it our best and keep training and working hard. We are under really good guidance who believes in us all. So we have our fingers crossed and going to keep going at it as persistence and hard work coming together as a team is what need to encapsulate," he said.
Robin was adamant about his India's - ranked 156th - chances against the 41st-ranked team Iran insisting the squad will approach the match with a positive mind.
"The squad at this moment is very positive and all of us have been working hard since we know Iran is one of the strongest teams in Asia," he concluded.
