Injured Dhawan disappointed to miss out, vows to come back stronger
INDIA'S IN-FORM opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the rest of the Test series against Sri Lanka, the BCCI said in a statement.
"Dhawan had injured his right hand during the first Test at Galle," the statement said. "He underwent further tests that confirmed a hairline fracture in his hand. He would require four to six weeks to recover from the injury."
The 28-year old southpaw sustained the injury while fielding in the first innings, but later went on to score a magnificent century, his 2nd successive ton in Tests. He wasn’t on the field when Sri Lanka batted in the second innings, and made just 23 runs when India batted again.
Immediately after the news broke out, Dhawan took to Twitter and expressed his disappointment, but promised he'll be back.
Sad to leave my teammates in the middle of the series, but still did my best even with a broken hand. Will bounce back stronger! Rab Rakha

The Indian team now faces a bigger challenge, as to who will open the innings alongside KL Rahul in the 2nd Test at Colombo.
Kudos, @SDhawan25 for batting with a broken & swollen hand at Galle. Did that in Brisbane too, scoring 81 with injured hand. #StrongLad

India's not hurting after the defeat, they're injuring. #ShikharDhawan
