Shikhar Dhawan celebrates International Left-hander’s Day with a century
SOUTHPAW SHIKHAR DHAWAN became only the third Indian batsman to score consecutive Test hundreds in away Tests, as India took the lead against Sri Lanka on Day 2 of the 1st Test at Galle.
29-year old Shikhar is the only left-handed batsman in the current Indian squad, and there couldn’t have been a better way to celebrate this special day for left-handers. Shikhar added to his overnight score of 53 not-out, patiently playing out the first hour alongside skipper Virat Kohli.
The southpaw was coming off a century in the last Test against Bangladesh, and he seems to have continued from where he left. Dhawan reached his hundred with a boundary off Dhammika Prasad, indulging in his trademark celebrations on the field.
And yes, @SDhawan25 did twirl his moustache #SLvsInd https://t.co/almpoNYIDU

Only Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid have been able to score back-to-back centuries in away Tests. Dhawan also has the unique distinction of scoring hundreds in his first Test in India, New Zealand, Bangladesh and now, Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, praises galore for the left-hander on social media from former cricketers!
