The much-awaited debut of Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Justino is all set to happen at UFC 198. The pay-per-view, which is scheduled to take place on May 14, in Brazil will be the ideal opportunity for Cyborg to announce her arrival as the show will be in her hometown of Curitiba.
As far as the opponent of Justino is concerned, the former Strikeforce World Title holder and current Invicta Featherweight champion would face Leslie Smith.
“I’m super excited about finally fighting in the UFC and making my debut in front of my hometown. I am very thankful to the UFC for finally giving me the chance to show the world why I am the baddest woman on the planet.” Justino told.
The whole world was buzzing about the debut of Justino for quite some time but the fight everyone wanted to see was Ronda Rousey vs. Cyborg. A lot of factors contributed to the delay of the same and now, Justino is set to face Smith, who has an 8-6 record in MMA.
The dream match with Ronda, however, is still a possibility according to Cyborg.
“I would love to fight Ronda. [But the] question is: does Ronda want to fight me?” she added.
Justino currently has an impressive 15-1 record in MMA and is also on a 9 match knockout streak with the latest coming in January where she successfully defended her Featherweight championship against Daria Ibragimova.
