NEVER ONE TO mince his words, Mohun Bagan coach Sanjay Sen has hit out at the AIFF and his club officials over the change of venue for the I-League season-opener against Aizawl FC.
Practicing with the team at the Mohun Bagan Ground, Sen told reporters with a hint of sarcasm,
"It's my good luck that they didn't change the venue the day before the game. At least I'll get a day's practice at Barasat."
He said changing the venue so late has hampered his preparations,
"We've been practicing with the knowledge that the match was going to be held at the Salt Lake Stadium. But now it has been changed. A lot of things will have to be re-adjusted now."
He criticized his own club officials for not putting up a fight against such a decision,
"I'm disappointed with those who accepted this decision. Those who did it don't seem to know much about the game of football."
The defending champions will begin their campaign on 9th January, at 4:30 pm. The match has been reportedly added to Ten Action's live broadcast schedule.
