ISL 2020 -- Lluis Sastre joins Hyderabad FC on a one year deal
LLUIS SASTRE REUS WILL BE playing for Hyderabad FC during the 2020-21 season.
The 34 year old defensive midfielder has joined the ISL franchise on a one year deal.
Lluis spent seven years in the Barcelona youth system before graduating to their C and B teams. He then moved on to Zaragoza, before having a fruitful 4 year spell at Huesca in the Segunda Division, which finally earned him a La Liga debut in 2012 at Real Valladolid.
He was a regular starter at Valladolid for the larger part of his 3 year spell with them, making 43 appearances in the Spanish top flight. After his second season with the club, they got relegated to second tier. In 2015, he joined Leganes who were also in second tier, but in his very first season, where he started regularly, they earned a promotion to the La Liga.
In 2016, he went back to his old club Huesca, where he had the best season of his career so far in 2017-18. He appeared in 37 matches, and played a central role in getting the club promoted to La Liga.
In 2018, he was picked up by AEK Laranca, a top flight club in Cyprus. He played the next two seasons for them, making 26 league appearances.
He now joins Hyderabad FC with a proven track record of helping multiple teams improve throughout his career; something that jives well with HFC's mission this season - to consolidate after a forgettable debut season and deliver on the pitch.
