NEROCA appoint former Aizawl gaffer Manuel Retamero Fraile as new head coach
JUST A DAY AFTER Aizawl FC announced the hiring of a former NEROCA coach, NEROCA have announced that their new head coach will be none other than former Aizawl FC gaffer Manuel Retamero Fraile.
Retamero was the head coach for Aizawl FC during their debut season in the top division. He started off the 2015-16 season well at the domestic circuit, winning the Mizoram Premier League with the Peoples' Club. But once playing in the national league, the mostly inexperienced side struggled against the veteran sides. Retamero also ran into trouble with the club management over some social media posts he made criticizing some club officials.
He is, however, credited by many as the one who created the strong technical base that carried over to next season when Aizawl FC went on to become the Champions of India.

At NEROCA, he will have a difficult job of making a successful follow up to the club's incredible first season where they were in the title race till the last day of the league under coach Gift Raikhan.
