I-League 2018 - NEROCA sign promising youngster Naorem Tondonba

CONTINUING WITH THEIR TREND of hiring local talent and promoting promising youngsters to their first team, NEROCA FC have signed Naorem Tondonba.

The 20 year old central midfielder is familiar to the club management, having previously played for NEROCA's Under-18 squad. Tondonba also played for Shillong Lajong's youth teams. 

Last season, his performance in the Manipur State League for KLASA caught the eyes of NEROCA's selectors, who approached him with a one season deal.

NEROCA made their top division debut in 2017-18 and immediately put on a strong performance that kept them in the title race till the very last day of the league. Eventually they finished second. Much of the credit for their breakout performance is credited to them having a strong core of local young players. It appears the Imphal-based club is continuing in the same direction with this signing.
