Farukh and Passi sign two-season contract extension deals with Jamshedur FC

JAMSHEDUR FC forward Farukh Choudhary put pen to paper to extend his stay with the club till 2020. The 22-year-old Mumbaikar played 15 matches for the Tata Group franchise helping them to a 5th place finish in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18, narrowly missing out on the semi-finals berth.

The forward was honoured to have signed on with Jamshedpur FC as he said,

“The Tata Group has been one of the biggest contributors in the development of a wide range of sports in India for decades. It's a privilege and honour to be a part of such a committed environment which understands and in return shares my passion and dedication towards football. The infrastructure and management is top class. They took exceptional care of our every need in our first season.”

He continued,

“What we have achieved this season was great! We were so close to qualify for the semis. I’m sure we all are already in the history books of Tata Group. But, I want to create history by winning the ISL title next season! I’ll give my best each time I get a chance to contribute for the team!”

Farukh also lauded the fans for their affection and constant support as he said,

“Jamshedpur FC felt like a home away from home with the love and immense support of our extended family; our fans. I want them to continue their love and support because that’s what makes us stronger!”

Sumeet Passi also penned a deal to extend his stay with Jamshedpur FC for two more seasons. On signing the contract he said,

We had a decent debut season and I really loved playing for Jamshedpur FC. The management and coaching staff was always so supportive. Everyone knows that I was sidelined due to injury for a long time and I received full support from the club. I am back to full fitness and I am hungry to build on the matches I played towards the end of the season.

Sumeet is determined to go a step further next season as he said,

“We will obviously aim to do better next season and go a step further. The overall objective always will be to win the Indian Super League.”
