Kohli requests for break during Sri Lanka series, cites ‘personal reasons’ 

INDIA SKIPPER Virat Kohli has cited ‘personal reasons’ and asked for a break during the upcoming Sri Lanka tour.

Starting with the longer format, India is scheduled to play three Tests, three ODIs and three T20s against Sri Lanka between November 16 and December 24. It is learnt that if Kohli receives thumbs up, India will play entire ODI and T20 series in his absence. As reported by Indian Express, a BCCI official divulged,

“Kohli has informed the BCCI that there are some personal reasons and that is why he won’t be available in the month of December. Kohli has been playing non-stop cricket for quite sometimes now and he certainly would like to be fresh for South Africa tour in January.”

Sri Lanka will play its lone warm-up game on November 11 in Kolkata before going into the first Test in Nagpur starting November 16.
