Pro Kabaddi: U Mumba bounce back after Pune loss, beat Haryana Steelers 29-28
U MUMBA skipper Anup Kumar led his side to a 29-28 victory over debutant Haryana Steelers in their second fixture of the Pro Kabaddi League season 5.
Both teams earned raid points in the opening minute of the game to level the score at 1-1. Shabeer Bappu and Kashiling Adake tried their best to form a lead but found strong resistance from the Steelers’ defenders. The scores were level at 8-8 in the 15th minute of the game. Despite Anup Kumar doggedly tried to avert an all-out, the Steelers inflicted one just before the half time and claimed a 15-11 lead.
Six minutes into the second half, Steelers scored back to back points to lead 19-12. Displaying serious comeback intent, the Mumbai outfit inflicted a super tackle to reduce the deficit to five points. Soon after, Kashiling Adake executed a super raid to make scores 19-18. It was closely followed by a two-point raid from Anup Kumar to inflict an all-out and lead the game by 22-20.
Steelers kept fighting till the last minute of the game but the PKL season 2 champions displayed maturity and protected their lead.
