INDIAN ACES: Backbone of local talent likely to grant Haryana Steelers a memorable debut season
HARYANA STEELERS are of the four new teams to have joined the Pro Kabaddi League this season. Owned by a prominent name in the Indian sporting industry, JSW Sports, Haryana is all set to make its much-awaited debut in PKL. The franchise will be representing a large fan base-from the state and will have huge expectations to fulfil.
The Steelers cherry picked some proven players in defence as well as offense during the players’ auction. They secured both right and left corner positions by acquiring renowned duo, Mohit Chillar and Surender Nada. They also bought star raider Wazir Singh to complement their defence. The other key names to join the raiding department were CPO Surjeet Singh, Sonu Narwal
The franchise also made an astute decision by appointing former Sports Authority of India chairman Ranbir Singh Khokhar as their chief coach. With an experience of more than 35 years under his belt, Khokhar appears to be an apt choice to guide the talented squad.
