Fitness vital in order to give 100% throughout the tournament: Rahul Choudhari
TELUGU TITANS captain Rahul Choudhari has asserted that players will need to work on their fitness if they want to be able to give 100 percent in each and every game throughout the fifth season of Pro Kabaddi League.
Choudhari, who earned the prestigious ‘Raider of the tournament’ in the previous season, feels that the 13-week long tournament demands fitness from all players. Speaking at the Media Forum, the start raider said,
"Fitness is very important when the tournament is long. It's a contact sport and each time you are on the mat, you are expected to give your cent percent. And to do that for a long time, you have to remain fit."
U Mumba captain Anup Kumar spoke on the same lines and said that the senior and the regular players in the team need to work more on their fitness. Anup divulged that his side underwent a 20-day camp at the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun, where they kept away from mat and worked only on fitness.
"We are working on our fitness now. A 20-day team (U Mumba) camp which was held at Dehradun was completely focused on fitness. We hardly got a chance to step on the mat. Every team expects their 8-9 important players to play the entire tournament. So, in order to do that, we have to remain fit."
The upcoming season will see 12 teams competing for the first time, starting July 28.
