It’s delightful to see Kabaddi gain popularity in ‘cricket-crazy’ India, says Rahul Choudhari
TELUGU TITANS CAPTAIN Rahul Choudhari has expressed his delight about the growing craze about kabaddi in India. Rahul said that he is surprised to see the rising popularity of the sport after the birth of Pro Kabaddi league.
In an interview with ABN Live, the 23-year-old said that him and the kabaddi fans cannot wait for the season five of PKL to get underway on July 28. When asked whether he had any suggestions for the government to aid kabaddi’s growth in the country, Rahul said that the authorities to provide permanent jobs and build training centres for all budding sports.
Rahul, who was adjudged as the best raider of PKL season 4, also thanked iconic Sachin Tendulkar for taking interest in the sport. He believes that the ‘Master Blaster’ who is the co-owner of Tamil Nadu based franchise will draw a lot of eyeballs towards the sporting event.
The Hyderabad franchise has made it to the semi-finals of all four PKL seasons. However, they failed to book a berth in the finals of the event. Speaking about its franchise’s woes, Rahul also reckoned that is side will claim the coveted trophy and will reward the fans for their immense support, in the upcoming season.
