WWE Backlash Results: Jinder Mahal becomes WWE champion, Nakamura debuts

BACKLASH TURNED OUT TO BE A LANDSCAPE shifting pay-per-view for the WWE as Jinder Mahal was crowned the new WWE champion. Mahal, with the help of the Singh Brothers, dethroned Randy Orton from the top in the main event of the pay-per-view.

Elsewhere, Shinsuke Nakamura made his SmackDown in-ring debut when he defeated Dolph Ziggler in the opening match of the night. The United States title match between AJ Styles and Kevin Owens ended in favour of Owens when he won via count out.
